Remember last year when Osama bin Laden’s niece, Wafah Dufour bin Ladin (that’s right, she spells it with an i), moved to New York and tried to become a pop star and all that really came of it were cheesecake photos of her here and there? When you so totally don’t make it as successfully as she didn’t, the next thing you do is get a reality-TV show to follow you around as you still don’t make it, which is ironically a way to make it these days. And the person you would go to to make that happen is publisher/producer Judith Regan, who is who Wafah went to and now a pilot is in the works. “It’s the story of Wafah trying to make it as a singer and the many cultures she comes from,” says Regan, who produced Growing Up Gotti. “It’s just showing that someone from these different cultures has the same aspiration, fears, and insecurities that any 20-something would have.” Sounds like a suicide pilot.
