Escape rooms have become all the rage with many popping up in different cities around the US. I’ve written about Escape LA’s “The Detective” & “The Theatre.” There are even escape rooms popping up in my home state of Arkansas! But now, you can play an escape room in the comfort of your very own home with Escape Room in a Box: The Werewolf Experiment!
The game was created by Juliana Patel & Ariel Rubin (whose mother works here at World of Wonder!) and is called Escape Room in a Box: The Werewolf Experiment. Ariel reached out to me after her mother saw my previous posts about escape rooms, and she brought the game for us to play! James St. James, Jake Thompson, and I sat down and opened the box. It released a mysterious gas that would turn us all in to werewolves unless we found the code to unlock the antidote before our hour ran up. I’m happy to say we were able to unlock the jar and get the medicine needed to stop our transformation, but it wasn’t easy as there were puzzles, riddles, and brainteasers to conquer before we found the code. It was a HOOT and just as much fun as if we were actually trapped in an actual escape room!
From Kickstarter:
ESCAPE ROOM IN A BOX is an experience as much as a game. It’s a chance to host an unforgettable night of fun with your friends as you race against the clock to twist your brain around puzzling problems and cunning clues.
We can’t tell you too much without ruining the surprise, but these are not just pen and paper puzzles. There are locked boxes! Keys and codes that must be found! Feats of dexterity, quests for knowledge and mind-bending brain teasers that must be accomplished.
You can read ALL about the game and donate over on their Kickstarter.
