Sweet. And sad. But sweet. But really sad. Britain’s Got Talent winner Susan Boyle says that at age 53, she finally has a boyfriend.

According to The Daily Mail

she met an American doctor when they were staying at the same hotel. “It’s very early days so we’ll see what happens. I hope he [visits],” she said. “I don’t want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I’ll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy.”

So to recap: Susan Boyle has a boyfriend and I don’t.

Last month, the Britain’s Got Talent winner opened up about her Asperger’s diagnosis and how it makes her feel. “I’m the only artist who needs a leash! I’m King Kong’s mother!” she said. “I feel a sense of panic, not wanting to be there. I get depressed. I just go away, be myself. Then I come back to you. I always come back.” But she said that singing helps. “It never happens on stage. Off stage, well, it happens lots. It always has. But I’m getting better at dealing with it because I know what it is. If I feel I’m going to take a mood swing, I get up and leave. … When I’m up on stage, even if I’ve had a bad day, I can become a different person. I feel safe. I don’t feel judged up there. I feel accepted.”
