After a decade at Moschino, it was announced today that Jeremy Scott will be exiting the role of creative director.
Scott said in a statement,
These past 10 years at Moschino have been a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination. I am so proud of the legacy I am leaving behind.
I would like to thank Massimo Ferretti for the honor of leading this iconic house. I would also like to thank all my fans around the world who celebrated me, my collections, and my vision, for without you none of this would be possible.”
Scott’s penchant for mixing high and low aesthetics resonated with many of the decade’s most iconic pop stars like Lady Gaga, Cardi B and Lizzo. Who else but Scott could dress Katy Perry as a literal chandelier (and a hamburger for the after-party) to attend the Met Gala‘s Notes on Camp in 2019?
Scott still has his own line plus his judging gig on Amazon Prime‘s Making The Cut where fashion designers compete for $1,000,000.
So, another big fashion house is looking for a new creative director? Who fits with Moschino’s “out there” Pop DNA? I have an idea…
My guess would be Moschino owner Aeffe is talking to designer Colm Dillane, aka KidSuper. Louis Vuitton’s menswear was looking at him as their menswear designer, but they gave Pharrell the job.
Colm has said in the past that he’s not interested in the fashion world, but Moschino would give him a bigger stage and a big, fat paycheck too!
We shall see in the coming weeks? If it’s KidSuper, you read it here first, kids.
