James Brolin probably doesn’t send Barbra Streisand flowers anymore. Or ever. Too expensive. The couple smarmed their way in without paying $20 when they went to see Mission: Impossible 3 at their local Mann’s theater in Malibu recently. They flattered, then flat-out asked the youngster at the customer service desk to be comped. According to Lloyd Grove at the NY Daily News, Streisand purred,”We asked especially for you, we haven’t seen you in a while.” No word on what Brolin said, if anything, before the millionaires were escorted in. “I just couldn’t believe it,” Jennifer Grossman, a neighbor of the Brolins who paid to see the film, told Grove. “It’s one thing to be comped their tickets, but it’s quite another to ask to be comped, in order to save a lousy $20 bucks. But she’s notorious for being this way.” Well, come on, that voice. But we’re wondering just how young the guy at the customer service desk was, exactly, since he’d actually heard of and could recognize Streisand and her husband. Perhaps he was gay. Also, we wonder where this “customer service desk” they speak of is located and how someone can reach it without showing a ticket.
