There was a raaaaaather spectacular shindig for the opening of the State of Liberty Museum last night. And who was there, you oh-so-casually ask? WELL… MY DEARS…. It was a pretty glittering guest list… There was Hillary and (a pregnant) Chelsea Clinton! Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King! Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller! Jeff Bezos! David Letterman! Andy Cohen! Seth Meyers! Tony Bennett! and…. well, no surprise, Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey, who have just finished their HBO documentary about Lady Liberty (to be premiered later this year).

As you know … the Statue of Liberty draws millions for an up-close look at Lady Liberty but since 9/11, security’s been incredibly tight and visitors have been restricted from visiting inside the statue.
Enter the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation … which poured $100M over 2 years to build a museum where visitors will learn about how the French made the 150-foot-tall gift to ‘Merica.
But back to that party. The trailer for WOW’s film was part of the program (it an after Gloria Estefan sang but before Tony and Oprah, don’t you know). You can watch the opening below. And the dive into the Instagram pics below.
(And, just between us, from what I’ve heard… after her rousing and ultra-inspiring speech, every partygoer there left CONVINCED it ought to be Oprah Winfrey 2020… Fingers crossed!)
