At Art Basel Miami Beach, which is in full-swing now…
OK, this is going to take some explaining, but see if you follow…
My pal, artist Sean Fader uses interaction with social media in what artists call their “practice.” (Below are a few of his “altered egos”.) So, for the Satellite Art Show in Miami, he chose to recreate Jonny Versayce‘s “Yaas! Gaga!” YouTube viral moments using drag queen Queef Latina and 4 acapella singers, the newly formed Fay Men Choir. (Check out the compilation video of Jonny’s Gaga love, below…)
As art goers enter the fair they will be met with full-on fan adoration and singers live-streaming themselves in the process.
I asked Sean about what he expected to occur and after a bit of prodding he said,
“…um, yeah, I’m just gonna kinda see what happens.”
