Yes, the petition to rename a block of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Street, President Barack H. Obama Avenue, has now gotten 260,000+ signatures online (They’ve revised their new goal of 300,000 to 325,000.)
It was started last October and the petition has just started picking up traction again with people from around the country. The move could change Trump‘s address to
Trump Tower
725 Barack H. Obama Avenue,
New York, NY 10022
Elizabeth Rowin, the woman behind the petition, told Newsweek.
“I honestly started it as a joke. I saw a comedian joke about how it would make Trump so mad if it was named after former President Obama and thought why not.”
Rowin wrote to the NYC Council and got replies from several members saying they would pursue the case.
Rowin says the city should honor the president responsible for taking out Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the September 11 terror attacks that killed almost 3,000 people. Rowin and other supporters also want to honor the leader for being
“scandal-free” and “bringing back the economy.”
#WhatSheSaid
(FYI: As the tweet says below, NYers HATE Trump and have for DECADES. Not to burst any bubbles, but there are stretches of streets all over the city honoring people, but in this case, as others, it would STILL be Fifth Avenue too.)
But hell, if it pisses Trump off even for a minute, I’m all for it! You can sign the petition too. (I did.) Go to moveon.org here.

New Yorkers don’t like Trump.
They have started a petition to request that the stretch of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 59th be renamed President Barack H. Obama Avenue.
If it gets the green light, Trump Tower will have a new address.
Poetic justice or what…?
