After many years of fully intending to go to the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona, yesterday we actually did, with our wowlebrity pal David Keeps, spending the 100-degree day eating deep-fired Snickers bars; seeking shade; petting goats, sheep, and llamas; riding the lame Ferris wheel but getting a worth-it double dose of nausea and whiplash on the 3-G Experience; seeking shade; watching the Clydesdale horses pull the Budweiser wagon; and examining the very latest in polyester bedding, massive hot tubs, and specialty coffins at the several vast consumer emporiums where we found shade. And you know what? We fully intend to do it again next summer.
