It’s time to make our voices heard and get energized. We’ve teamed up with NerdsVote to share the opportunities you can participate in while maintaining a social distance. Here are 5 simple ways you can elevate your political activism during this time.
It’s the first step to any online advocacy, and it’s easy. You can register to vote HERE.
Vote by Mail
Voting by mail varies by state, and has been constantly changing due to COVID-19. However, if your state allows absentee voting, make sure to fill out an application for a mail-in ballot! The best way to find out if your state offers absentee voting is to contact your local board of elections.
Stay Up-to-Date With the Primaries
A large number of remaining presidential primaries and special elections are being postponed due to COVID-19. The postponements are happening frequently at the moment, so try to follow your local election board on social media for updates. States (such as New York and California) have been announcing the most up-to-date information via social media.
Engage with Online Political Content
One way to stay politically active while social distancing is to share the information you come across, so that people can stay informed within your circles. You can follow @NerdsVote to help spread the word with their shareable content.
Fill Out the Census
It is so important for your community to ensure that you’re counted. Why? Because the census can provide more funding to your community! You can even fill out the census at home online at 2020census.gov
