The always slightly surreal design duo Viktor & Rolf sent a series of nutty “Action Dolls” down the runway for their Fall 2017 Couture show, who, to quote the program notes, “are rooting for a world that is creative, diverse, and eco-conscious.”
Mmmmkay.
Says Vogue:
Whatever vibe you pick up from these dolls—kooky, cute, creepy, clever—the designers insisted their intention was anything but cynical. “We thought reality is so weird at the moment, why not show the surreal side of reality,” said Rolf Snoeren, with Viktor Horsting suggesting that “these [dolls] are fighting for a better world” via the patchwork symbolizing unity.
Love it!
Super Kawaii!
Unfortunately: I don’t think the foam doll heads are included with the purchase of an outfit, but I’m sure if you’re paying couture prices, they’ll probably throw one in if you beg nicely.
