I suppose the upside to being a D-list celebrity is that there’s not much they can do to you when you fuck up. Case in point: Kathy Griffin. If any other celebrity were to behead the president for a photo shoot, they would lose lucrative endorsement deals and most likely get fired from their movies and tv shows and charity events. Kathy doesn’t have to worry about that. She doesn’t HAVE anything to take away! Well, except her recent Squatty Potty deal. That’s gone.
Said Squatty Potty CEO Bobby Edwards in a statement:
“We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared. It was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for. In response, Squatty Potty has suspended its ad campaign featuring Ms. Griffin. We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared. I wonder how far the public dragging will go, though. Will the backlash be enough to hurt her concert ticket sales? I don’t see how. Her fans seem to like that sort of thing. I imagine there will be a lot of hue and cry from the right until the next celebrity does something they don’t like, and everyone will move on. What do YOU think her punishment should be?
