#TransgenderDayofVisability: Trans Superstars Read Inspiring Tweets About Themselves

By James St. James on March 31, 2017 11:47 am

It’s a refreshing switcheroo on the “reading mean tweets” trope that’s flooding your Facebook page – No snark, no savagery, just genuine love.

YouTube star Gigi Gorgeous, activist Angelica Ross, Transparent actresses Alexandra Gray and Trace Lysette, photographer Amos Mac, and the always amazing writer/producer Jacob Tobia, and others have come together in an inspiring new video and photography series in honor of Transgender Day Of Visibility, courtesy of GLAAD and Instagram.

Via HuffPo:

According to an email sent to The Huffington Post, the project, known as #KindComments, “captures the moment of love, support, and visibility as these trans advocates and influencers read aloud inspiring Instagram comments that have posted from their followers on their accounts.”

Watch it below, and have your hankies ready.

On Transgender Day of Visibility and every day, join GLAAD, Instagram and @jacobtobia in celebrating transgender people by sharing #KindComments – empowering comments that uplift you and others in the trans community. See something? Say something…kind! Spread the ❤ on Instagram with #KindComments. #TDOV
