Justin Bieber went Christmas shopping on Rodeo Drive yesterday and honestly seemed surprised that A) people recognized him and wanted to take his picture and B) there were paparazzi there who were interested in talking to him. Again: On Rodeo Drive. Where they camp out. En masse. Every damn day. Hoping to see a star.
After a TMZ reporter pestered him with string of silly questions (“Would you perform at the Inauguration? Did Kanye influence the whole ‘not talking’ thing?”), Justin lost his patience.
“Really!?” he said, “I’m just hanging’ out with my boy, trying to walk down the damn street…”
“Yeah” sputtered the reporter, “but it seems like it’s suddenly started…”
Justin was NONE OF IT, though, and lashed out him. ” What’s wrong with your face, bro?” he taunted.
“What does it look like?” the guy asked gamely.
“It’s just the way your face looks – there’s something wrong with it.”
“OK…” the reporter said, evenly, still trying to engage. “Is it the eyes? The nose?”
“It’s nothing about the features, it’s just, like, the insecurities in your face, asking the dumb questions that you’re asking.”
“Well, thank you for pointing that out. Alright. Thanks, Justin.”
And with that, Justin left them all in the dust.
Now, I get it. Celebrities are people and they deserve to go Christmas shopping in peace and not be hassled. BUT. If you’re as famous as Justin Bieber, maybe you know that Rodeo Drive is going to be especially busy this time of year, and you make arrangements with the stores to go in back entrances and maybe have a personal shopper help you in a VIP area so you aren’t subjected to the hoi polloi. It’s what every other celebrity on the planet does, and BELIEVE ME, stores on Rodeo are more than happy to coddle the rich and famous.
So. Watch the video below and tell me: Was he justified or was that bratty behavior?
