This pic of three cast members and director Wes Anderson in Cannes for his latest film, The French Dispatch, inspired a flurry of memes riffing on the stars’ own unique style.
The film received a nine-minute standing ovation from the audience. Cannes viewers are somewhat famous for applauding or booing in response to movies they love/hate. It features a star-studded cast that includes Andeerson regulars Owen Wilson, Benicio del Toro, and Frances McDormand.
Timothée Chalamet, Wes Anderson, Tilda Swinton and Bill Murray stood side-by-side for photogs in an array of lewks and generational dress codes from sneakers to pumps and shorts to suits setting off memes and comment sections around the world.
The French Dispatch will be released in the US on Oct. 16.
