Wands at the ready, hunties! Grab your wands and point them at your MacBook because the new (full length) trailer for Fantastic Beasts came out and it. Is. Everything! Your recently discovered Patronus from Pottermore won’t protect your hearts’ fluttering post-viewing this already iconic trailer. Comic Con released a trailer back in June that the kids got their entire life too, but this new one will have you spitting out your Butterbeer and put all the Wingardiums in your Leviosa.
Here’s the five things we LOVE about the new trailer:
5) THIS BOSS WITCH
When she first appears in the trailer, I was all:
Then I was like, wait:
Well, it’s Seraphina Picquery (played by Carmen Ejogo) whom just happens to be the President of the Magical Congress of the United States.
So…like…this is her anthem:
4) THE FASHION/ADVENTURE
I know, I know…you’re probably like:
…it’s a little confusing/not fair to combine the two…but without frills this trailer managed to showcase the perilous journey New Scamander will be embarking on, while making him and the other characters look fly as f***, without coming off too gimmicky or costume-y. It’s like Penny Dreadful meets Corpse Bride meets Sleepy Hollow realness.
FOR EXAMPLE:
ONE WORD:
3) THE BEASTS
They range from cute to:
Giving Spock a run for his bull-cut money (and Norman Bates facial expression), I’m jazzed about this casting. There’s not much on IMDB about whom Credence is, but I can’t wait.
1) COLIN FARRELL IS DADDY
Didn’t know he was gonna be in it (looking so delicious), yet there he stands all GQ and s***. He plays Percival Graves and it’s clear he plays a gangster straight outta London.
He says: “You’re an interesting man, Mr. Scamander. Just like your suitcase, I think there’s more to you than meets the eye. Kicked out of Hogwarts for endangering human life with a beast, yet one of your teachers argued strongly against your expulsion. I wonder… what makes Albus Dumbledore so fond of you, Mr. Scamander?”
Here’s the trailer so you can watch for yourself and pick out your favorite parts:
The era of new magic begins on November 18th.
