Meryl Streep can play ANYBODY, right? We’ve all thought that for decades now. You need further proof?
La Streep donned a fat suit, orange makeup and a pretty spot-on wig to impersonate Donald Trump at the annual Shakespeare in the Park Public Theater Gala. She was joined by Christine Baranski, who impersonated Hillary Clinton. The pair sang a parody of Cole Porter’s song Brush Up Your Shakespeare from Kiss Me Kate. Streep sang while doing her best Queens accent,
“You’ll let me know why it is all the women say no.”
Writer and documentary filmmaker Jacob Bernstein and Carmen Melian captured a few moments. Watch.
