Never been a YUUGE Phil Collins fan, but he HAS turned out quite a few hits, although none very recently. He has now reissued some of his most popular albums as part of the collection called, Take a Look at Me Now…. But the guy on the new album covers has aged quite a bit. Being a year older today, I can relate.
And the title is apparently meant to be taken literally, and so in addition to some musical extras, Collins also reshot each one of the six albums’ covers… just the opposite of what most aging rockers look to do. British photographer Trevor Key took most of the originals, and Peter Ashworth snapped the original for No Jacket Required. Photographer Patrick Balls reimagined all of the new covers.
FYI, Collins has sold over 150 million albums worldwide, making him one of the world’s best-selling artists. He is one of only three artists, along with Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, who have sold over 100 million albums worldwide both as solo artists and separately as principal members of a band. He’s in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and is worth in the neighborhood of $250 million. Nice neighborhood.
