Email from my friend Annie:
A while ago I helped rescue a wonderful, big pit bull mix named Victor. He was found wandering around Beachwood Canyon, dumped by owners that moved and didn’t take him with them. It is mind-boggling how someone could leave behind such a sweet and lovable old friend.
A great rescue group called “A Dog’s Life Rescue” helped me by sponsoring his release from North Central Animal Shelter. They have been tirelessly helping me find him a home, but it’s been months. He goes to adoption events every weekend, but no one has stepped up to adopt him. He has been at a training and boarding facility for months now. He is older (around 9 years old) and he desperately needs a more comfortable situation. We are trying to find a foster home for him until we can find him a permanent home. We are willing to pay $300/month with food and supplies provided if you are willing to bring him into your home. He has been in a foster home before and he was very well-behaved.
If you or anyone you know is interested in being a paid foster, please contact me. Victor would be best in a dog-free home. However, he could go into a home with an experienced dog owner, with mellow dogs. This person would have to know how to do proper intros and possibly keep him separate for a few days while he gets used to a new environment. He has not been tested with kids and cats.
Victor is really mellow and just likes to sleep and hang out. He is crate trained and house broken. A home-check would be part of the deal if you are interested (duh).
Thank you. Please pass this along and contact me if you have any leads.
