Banksy has posted another contribution to his month-long New York exhibit, Better Out Than In, an oil painting of a Nazi gazing out at a mountain landscape. The artist writes that the work, entitled “The banality of the banality of evil,” is “a thrift store painting vandalised then re-donated to the thrift store.” It’s in the window of Housing Works at 157 East 23rd Street. The piece is being auctioned off on Bidding For Good with a starting bid of $76,000. (the bid is currently at $211,511) The charity thrift shop has placed a bodyguard by the window. Monies collected by Housing Works support the homeless with AIDS. (via Animal New York)
