My old friends, Adrian Milton and Patrick Lehman, started the Dachshund Friendship Club in the late 80s and it’s grown into a huge New York event eagerly anticipated by thousands. Here’s your invitation:
“Adrian and I have been co hosting the Dachshund Friendship Club events in Washington Square for the last 25 years… It’s a very cute event where people stand around, play with their dogs and talk about how cute they are. It’s a very low tech, high touch, humane experience. The Spring Fiesta is this Saturday, April 26th, 12- 2:00PM, Washington Square Park, New York City. Hope to see you there.”
In the video below, we get to see a 2007 outing of the DFC and witness the only official activity; the singing of the Dachshund Song, composed by Murray Weinstock. The polka song is a fitting tribute to the little hot dog.
