According to a statement today from CBS, longtime 60 Minutes essayist Andy Rooney is currently hospitalized after developing serious complications following some minor surgery he underwent last week. The network says Rooney’s condition is stable, but at the family’s request no other details about his health or the location of the hospital will be released. Three weeks ago, the 92-year-old curmudgeonly newsman retired from his gig on the Sunday evening broadcast, where he’d been complaining on-air about this ‘n’ that since 1978. (via Yahoo!)
