It’s been 10 years since Cory Monteith did.
His former Glee co-star, and girlfriend Lea Michele, wrote in an emotional Instagram post,
Hey you. 10 years.
It feels like only yesterday that you were here and yet a million years ago all at the same time. I hold all of our memories in my heart where they will stay safe and never forgotten.
We miss you every day and will never forget the light you brought to us all. I miss you big guy.
I hope you found Taylor up there and are playing the drums together.”
The reference is to Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died in 2022. (Monteith was an avid drummer.)
Michele and Monteith were dating at the time of his death in 2013. He was found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver. He was later found to have a “mixed drug toxicity” of heroin and alcohol in his system.
Michele also posted on Instagram after his death, thanking her fans for their
enormous love & support…
Cory will forever be in my heart.”
Cory Monteith would have been 41.
