We met Amy Winehouse the day David LaChapelle was filming on Hollywood Boulevard in front of the World of Wonder building for her music video "Tears Dry on Their Own" back in2007. It was a dream in front of your eyes. Steven Corfe was shooting WOW TV's "Ring My Bell" with Murray Hill from NYC that day and Sham said, "I think I just saw Amy Winehouse outside." We went outside to say hieeeeeeeeeeee to David and he introduced us to Amy and Blake Fielder-Civil (Blake was shooting a documentary about her life) and then David dressed me up in a neck brace and handed me some crotches and put Steven (and his pug Stella) and I in the music video (at 1:56 & 2:06). Amy, Blake, and David could not have been cooler, sweeter, or funnier. It was just another fabulous day in Hollywood... all at World of Wonder :) Here are some pics I took that day. RIP Amy... Your talent made this life special :)
I just received the I...Amanda Lepore CD and T-shirt from Peace Biscuit and I am already in love with the song "Nails Done" featuring Cazwell and Roxy Cottontail. I love it! Listen to it and tell me what you think.
WIN $11,000 wrapped in bacon if you can recommend future employees to new web startup company, Scopely. Seriously! Know any good software infrastructure engineers? Ham hock!
I will take a double, triple scoop ALL flavas drenched in sweet sauce with hand whipped cream, covered in nuts and hold the cherry. AND SUPER SIZE IT! ta-go! hieeeeeeeeeee
INVISIBLE-EXPORTS, in collaboration with the Big Screen Plaza, is pleased to present an evening of BOOB behind the Eventi Hotel (851 Sixth Avenue, New York City) on Wednesday July 6, 2011 from 8-10pm.
BOOB was a conceptual hardcore rock band that began amidst the infamous 1990’s New York City club scene of Peter Gatien-owned nightclubs, Limelight, Tunnel, Palladium and Club USA.
Led by three prominent club kids, Walt Paper (Walt Cassidy), Desi Monster (Desi Santiago) and Loxanna (John McGrath), BOOB consisted of Mr. Johnson (Scott Johnson) on guitar, Sonia Sonic (Sonia Manalili) on bass, and Mayumi (Mayumi Shimokawa) on drums. The burlesque performer *BOB* was featured as their mascot, “The BOOB Girl”. The band was managed by Thairin Smothers.
Hand made for the one and only. The feeling I get from watching and hearing this is similar to the movie theater crowd reacting to The Dark Knight trailer.
Tom Wolf's favorite Hollywood hamburger joint, Molly's, was flipping its final burgers today after opening in 1929, so a group of us WOWies joined the mobs saying goodbye at the counter located at the corner of Vine and Selma. Owner Kwok Yi negotiated a million-dollar-plus deal to relocate. When we arrived, the line went as far back as Shirley MacLaine's Walk of Fame star on Vine Street, but by the time we got our burgers it was past Dean Martin's. All proceeds from the sales today of a $3.00 combo meal (burger, fries & drink) went to the Gettlove Organization, which helps the Hollywood homeless.
