At Comic-Con this year, I bought an enormous stack of romance comics from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s that I thought I’d share with you. I think you’re just going to love them. These torrid little tales are gorgeously overwritten, laughably overdramatic, and somehow manage to be both salacious and prudish at the same time. Our first story is One Hour of Love from The Agony and Ecstasy of Young Love, February, 1974. It’s the story of Elena, who finds happiness in the arms of a mysterious stranger on a sea-swept summer afternoon. After he vanishes she tries to move on her life, but can never forget her ONE HOUR OF LOVE. Read it in full after the jump.
