Back in 1991, World of Wonder was hatching a TV show called Stars of the Future. For the show, Fenton and Randy drew upon the rich talent pool of the Manhattan club scene, many of its participants friends and colleagues of the former Fabulous Pop Tarts. We’re not sure any of the performances actually aired, but some of them may have graced the big screens at Peter Gatien’s Club USA. In this clip, veteran downtown performance artist David Ilku and “dream” club regular Madame Rachel perform their “greatest hits” and rant in assumed accents. It’s interesting to note that, of all the participants appearing in SOTF, only Rupaul really became a star. Although you might remember Ilku from a constantly aired commercial for Listerine PocketPaks. (Watch the Clip)
