Right outside the World of Wonder offices, as a matter of fact. It was a small but enthusiastic crowd that came out to support her (the heat keeping most people away, probably). Anyway, the Glee star was adorable, dressed in a demure men’s suit and cracking wise about her early days in Hollywood. Congratulations, yay. Photos by Thairin Smothers.

Three days ago, a 23-year-old woman was stabbed to death at the intersection of Hollywood and Highland, the epicenter of LA’s congested tourist district, by one of the two homeless men in this photo because she didn’t give him a dollar after she took his picture. The men have since been arrested. You can read the surviving friend’s first-person account of the tragedy at LAist. This photo was taken by the friend who witnessed the murder.
“Backstreet is Back … and we aren’t going anywhere,” Nick Carter told fans yesterday at the unveiling of the star on the Walk of Fame (located, fittingly, between Boyz II Men and The Osmonds). The band, which has sold more than 130 million records worldwide, will be releasing their new album later this year and a documentary film set to release in 2014. Several songs from their new album were played during the event along with a teaser for the upcoming movie. ”I never ever imagined in a million years that we would be a part of this,” my boyfriend Nick Carter said, holding back tears. Kevin Richardson said: ”What an honor it is. What a beautiful day. What another beautiful way to celebrate twenty years together.” ”I love you guys. And aside from my wedding day and the birth of my daughter, this is hands-down the best day of my life,” AJ McLean said. ”I will one day be able to bring my family here,” Howie Dorough said. “My kids will be able to bring their kids here and still be able to see the legacy that the Backstreet Boys have carried on for many years.” Said Brian Littrell: “I worked my entire life to never be walked on, but I’m OK with this one.”
Anne Hathaway looking very Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfried at Hugh Jackman’s star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And here’s a little story about my RAZOR SHARP journalistic instincts: So yesterday I was meandering down Hollywood Boulevard (as you do), on my way to Sephora for a little lip gloss or something, when I saw a large group of people gathered on the sidewalk. I groaned and crossed the street to avoid them. People. Yuck. Then I saw this breathtaking blonde in a Burberry trench come out of the deli, which is a pretty rare sight on Hollywood Boulevard, trust me. It’s mostly street punks and Swedish tourists. Not a lot of 2013 couture. But here was just this really dazzling girl who exuded confidence and glamour and real star power. And what do I do? Take a picture of a girl in an alien costume and some hippies on the street. LITERALLY, Amanda Seyfried is WALKING RIGHT PAST ME as I snap away, ooohing and ahhing over a girl in a freakin’ alien mask. And I had no idea until this morning when I came across these pictures. Groan. (Photos: Pacific Coast News)
Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday and had the distinction of being praised by his close personal friend and Teflon Hollywood institution Charlie Sheen who, in emphasizing the musician’s lofty status, said, “It’s quite fitting that Slash is getting a star on the very street Axl Rose will one day be sleeping on.” See, Axl and Slash famously don’t get along. So that was funny. (Photos: Pacific Coast News)
