Nicole Kidman reportedly snubbed her bestie by turning producers down when asked to appear on a five-minute segment for 60 Minutes to talk about Naomi Watt’s Oscar-nominated role in The Impossible. Now, Nicole’s people claim it was a scheduling conflict, but the word is it was more like she was bitter about not being recognized for her role in The Paperboy. They say she turned down the interview because of one thing –jealousy. Believe it? (Photo: Pacific Coast News)

Zac appeared on The Ellen Show to discuss his latest cinematic disappointment, The Paperboy. After a charming story about encountering fans in the Philippine jungles, conversation turned to his ideal first date and that’s where you need to take notes. Dinners are awkward, he says, and forced intimacy is a no-no, so he prefers to do something dangerous. Sky-diving, probably. So for God’s sake, don’t dress for Le Cirque. You’re welcome.
The trailer for the Nicole Kidman/Zac Efron pee-a-palooza has arrived. Unfortunately, the golden shower scene isn’t included, although we do get a nice shot of Zac in a pair of wet tighty-whities. This looks JUST AWFUL. I can’t wait.
Poor Zac. He just can’t catch a break. His new movie The Paperboy (with Nicole Kidman and Matthew McConaughey) debuted at the Cannes on Thursday to disastrous word-of-mouth. On the bright side, the movie did give attendees with the chance to watch Nicole Kidman urinate on Zac Efron, and by all accounts it’s an instant camp classic along the lines of Showgirls or From Justin to Kelly. Personally, I can’t wait. Writes Eric Kohn at Indiewire: ”You can go into The Paperboy expecting a disaster and have fun with it, and since its stench will always linger somewhere on the filmographies of everyone involved with it, one can imagine it finding new life as a participatory of midnight experience of the Rocky Horror variety. If that happens, however, the onus is on viewers to redeem the movie by adding to it. But such enthusiasm would give The Paperboy more credit than it deserves.”
Lionsgate released this photo of Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey, and Nicole Kidman, three actors DESPERATELY in search of a hit, and DESPERATE to regain their acting cred. And if spreading your legs à la Basic Instinct and looking like Courtney Stodden is the means to that end, then Nicole is certainly game. Good for her. Poor dear hasn’t had a hit in over a decade. And Zac wants to show everybody he CAN be sexy, The Lucky One notwithstanding. He recently told a reporter “Nicole is so gorgeous. [This role] was everything you dreamed of. She was such a lovely person. I pinched myself everyday, especially after doing love scenes with Nicole Kidman. It was the highlight of my life.” I’m sure it was, dear, I’m sure it was. *Rolls eyes*. But this picture is promising, I’ll say that. Lionsgate describes The Paperboy as “an explosive sexual thriller,” which could mean The Postman Always Rings Twice or it could mean Jennifer’s Body. Either way, I’m there.
