“I’ve lived a long time [74 years], 20 years of that time was in the south, and I have seen too many lives destroyed and distorted by homophobia. I pray with all my heart that I live to see the day when people can come out freely, safely and be accepted by every strata of society.” – screen legend Jane Fonda presenting the Outfest Visionary Award to Lee Daniels, who directed her as First Lady Nancy Reagan in The Butler (Photo; Pacific Coast News, via Queerty)

Oprah, Jane, Gladys, and James walk the red carpet at Regal Cinemas LA Live in Los Angeles. And um, excuse me, Miss Knight? You have a little bit of… lipstick…. there, on your tooth. No, to the left. Up. Over. Yes, THERE. You might want to get that before… any… bloggers… Never mind. (Photos; Pacific Coast News)
There were four movie premieres of note last night: Kick-Ass 2 in London, Lovelace in Hollywood, Planes in Hollywood, and The Butler at the Zeigfeld in New York. I can’t believe I decided to go with The Butler. I know, I know: You have zero interest in seeing it, and even less interest in the red carpet. But look! It’s Mariah with a FABULOUSLY studded sling! And Anna and Andre, and Andre is wearing a gorgeous goldenrod pup tent! And there’s wowlebrity Fantasia with THAT MILLION-DOLLAR SMILE and metallic leather skirt and is that a belly chain around her bare midriff? It is! She never disappoints, does she? Then we have Jesse Williams who… um… has blue eyes! To be honest, I don’t really know anything about Jesse Williams except that there was a massive write-in campaign to get him to play Finnick in Catching Fire, for which he was all wrong, but people do like his blue eyes and I needed a fourth picture, so OMG, YAY JESSE WILLIAMS! Nice tie! And that concludes my red carpet coverage of The Butler. (Photos: Pacific Coast News)
Wait a cotton-pickin’ minute! That’s Mariah Carey picking cotton as field slave Hattie Pearl in Precious director Lee Daniels’ latest film. The Butler also stars Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Cuba Gooding Jr, Lenny Kravitz, Robin Williams, and Jane Fonda. Meanwhile, Carey’s 13th studio album drops on July 23.
Handsome actor Alex Pettyfer went shirtless between scenes on the set of his new film The Butler, filming on location in New Orleans. We applaud the heatwave there. Look closely (as if you’re not already) if you want to see his tattoos of a celtic cross and that old Buddhist chestnut, “What goes around, comes around.” Yeah, we’d like him to come around.
