Travis, of course, was THE hottest male supermodel of the early aughts – my GOD, he was REALLY SOMETHING, wasn’t he? Do you REMEMBER those Calvin Klein ads? He was first male model in the world, you know, to secure a six-figure deal, to model exclusively for Calvin Klein for a year. He fronted CK’s Crave men’s fragrance campaign and modelled the brand’s underwear. His billboards famously had to be pulled down after complaints of traffic congestion and accidents by rubbernecking drivers. By 2002, he was regarded as “the most in-demand male model in the world.” It has even been suggested by some journalists that he was the inspiration for Samantha’s boyfriend Jerod on Sex and the City. Then came his role on the WB’s Tarzan  which wasn’t QUITE the breakout hit we all thought it would be (Travis in a loin cloth, how could it fail?). It only lasted a couple episodes. Other roles dribbled in over the years, but we all sort of forgot about Travis, didn’t we? UNTIL TODAY. He’s starring in that Vikings series for the History Channel and he looks ABSOLUTELY DELECTABLE! Good for him! On it, he plays Ragnar Lodbrok, “the legendary Viking leader who is frustrated by the unadventurous tendencies of his local chieftan and strikes out to pillage new lands.” USA Today described Fimmel’s performance as “engaging”, while the Huffington Post called it his “breakout role.” So, YAY.
