The year was 1994 when a fresh-faced, doe-eyed queen from Iowa by way of Colorado made a splash in the hair modeling industry. An unfortunate incident with a Flowbee derailed his career as an Aveda hair model, but their loss was our gain because this queen is now the wowlebrity we all know and love as Thairin Smothers.
It’s FRIDAY and World of Wonder is now on Vine! Follow us!
If you don’t already know, Vine is the new “it” app where users post six-second vidbits that play on repeat. It’s a little less refined than Instagram, but the potential is oh so titillating!
You better believe we’re gonna get Ru saying “oh no she better don’t!” on repeat and it’ll be your new favorite thing ever.
We can’t hardly take the excitement!
James St. James had a fabulous night at Evita, the new Tuesday night weekly party from Luke Nero and Andres Rigal at bLok in Hollywood where he went to see Amanda Lepore perform. After Amanda arrived in Angelyne’s pink corvette, James and Amanda went inside to enjoy the party and greet all the fun clubland party people.
Last night James St. James was on-hand to greet Amanda Lepore as she arrived at Evita in Hollywood in Angelyne’s pink Corvette. After Angelyne took off, Amanda performed a full set of her songs for the packed house; here she is performing “Marilyn.” A full “Daily Freak Show” of James’ night at Evita is coming soon, subscribe on YouTube.
James St. James and Thairin Smothers went to the WeHo Confidential 2013 “Who’s Who” Awards last week, where James won Best WeHo Socialite of the Year. James hobnobbed with WeHo Confidential founder Lucas John, Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison, Bobby Trendy, Doron Ofir, Grindr founder Joel Simkhai, Fade-dra Phey, Vicky Vox, wowlebrity Chanel Perrillo (who won Best Fag Hag of the Year), Jonny McGovern, Melissa Brown, Anderson Brooks, and more. For the last week or so, I’ve been posting my favorite wowlebrity portraits from The World According to Wonder (OUT TOMORROW!), building up to my absolute super number one favorite pictures in the book, nay, IN THE HISTORY OF PORTRAITURE, these: Thairin in drag. Yep. Every time I see these two pics, I gasp and scream “THAT BITCH!” He’s the only person to get TWO SIDE-BY-SIDE portraits, and the only person to have professional hair and makeup (the BRILLIANT Billy B and Syd Curry) – I’m so jealous. Well, not really. I mean: Who could decide between blonde bombshell Thairin and lusty vamp Thairin? Oddly enough, even though Thairin is the gayest person I know (and I know A LOT of gay people) these pics are his first time ever in drag. I couldn’t believe it either. With lips like that? What a waste. In Wigstock: The Movie, he explains that he has a highly addictive personality, and if he ever started doing drag he wouldn’t be able to stop. If these pictures are any indication of the woman he would be, I see no reason to stop. Bring it on, gurl! Give us more of that Thairrah realness! Which one is YOUR favorite?
