What are you doing just sitting there on the sofa? Get your lazy ass up, flip over the cushion, and kick the shit out of it! You can add more resistance by increasing the number of sofa cushions. There’s also a pretty sweet cool-down video in the middle. I mean, it’s labeled incorrectly, it’s actually, “Burning Heart,” but you won’t care ’cause you’ll be all bad ass and sweaty from kicking couch-ass. (via Everything is Terrible)
I’ve recently went back into fitness-freak mode and along with RuPaul’s regular “Cardio Jams of the Day” I’ve started to incorporate Ashtanga Yoga into my workout regimen. I’ve always shied away from Yoga as I mistakenly believed it would be too easy and wouldn’t amount to much of a workout. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Ashtanga kicks ass! And though I’m still a total novice and I’m nowhere near attaining perfect positions, the results can’t be denied. This summer I will be turning 44 – and I’ve got abs again! And I don’t know if it is somehow connected but after starting Ashtanga (and for the first time in my life) I decided to grow a beard. Weird.
So that’s my post on fitness for Friday. Now its time to go werk the weekend!
