At the MOMA premiere for Woody Allen’s new flick: a radiant Natasha Lyonne (has she ever looked more beautiful?), Liz Smith (MY GOD! It’s LIZ SMITH! Hobbling about with a cane, but the old gal is STILL GOING!), the always pitch-perfect Solange Knowles, and Amy Pohler. (Photos: Pacific Coast News)

An installation with a field of falling water that pauses wherever a human body is detected, Random International’s immersive environment, Rain Room at the Museum of Modern Art has been a BIG hit. The fact that it’s rained a LOT this summer hasn’t deterred visitors in the least. The current wait time to get in is eight hours. Not to be a smartass, but I’ve been able to achieve the same effect INSTANTLY with my own nifty little trick. It’s called opening an umbrella. I still really want to go. Through July 28.
The fabulous Tilda Swinton began her exhibit called “The Maybe” at MoMA last week where museum goers will be able to catch a glimpse of or perhaps even “study” the Oscar-winning actress over the next year. She will be resting inside a glass case with nothing by her side except a pillow and a jug of water to keep her hydrated. But apparently it will NOT be a day-to-day thing. According to museum staff, Ms Swinton will show up on days she would like to display herself. A press release by MoMA stated, “…there is no published schedule for its appearance, no artist’s statement released, no museum statement beyond this brief context, no public profile or image issued. Those who find it chance upon it for themselves, live and in real — shared — time: now we see it, now we don’t.” LOVE IT. But what do you think? Is it art? Or is it just Tilda Swinton sleeping in a box?
