I knew there was a reason why I was always drawn to Michelle Dockery besides the amazing cold bitch of a performance she turns on Downton Abbey. She is an Essex girl! You might be fooled by the posh accent, but Michelle tells Hello! magazine, “I had a very strong Essex accent when I was younger, and I don’t think I would have got the role of Lady Mary if I’d walked into the audition going, “Allo, nice ter meet ya!” Maybe not, but I would kill to see her fake-tanned with four pairs of lashes and hanging out at the Sugar Hut. Just once, anyway.

Now that Lady Mary’s husband has ended his tenure on the show by getting himself killed in that season-ending car crash, the widow (and you) will be enjoying a lot of fresh suitors calling on her at the stately Downton Abbey. ”Quite a few and they’re very handsome,” Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary, said at a Downton Abbey event at the Leonard H Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood. “Yes, there are a few potential suitors, but I don’t even know where it’s going yet.” Two of her gentleman callers in the show’s fourth season will be played by the handsome Julian Ovenden and Tom Cullen, pictured above, respectively, if not respectfully. We’re looking at you, Tom.
We’ve featured him on the WOW Report before but it’s always fun to revisit him, and well worth your time to spend an hour or so on his web page. His Tumblr creations are truly mesmerizing. From his online bio: “William Reiss is currently a development story artist for Disney Television animation. Other credits include co-executive producer for Disney channel’s Fish Hooks, creative director for Cartoon Network’s Chowder, and storyboard artist/writer for Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants. In his career he has freelanced for companies such as dreamworks feature animation, playhouse disney/wild brain and Simon & Schuster publishing. He has earned two primetime emmy nominations and one annie nomination for his work with c.h. greenblatt on ‘chowder,’ as well as one annie nomination for Fish Hooks.” (via SissyDude)
I am so freakin’ THRILLED! It’s been confirmed that we are indeed getting a season four of the acclaimed series Downton Abbey. The characters are still unknown; the word is that Lady Mary and her hubby, Cousin Matthew, might not be returning but how could they NOT? Right now, I will take what I can get and won’t believe anything until it’s been announced. (via tumblr)
If you didn’t know by following me on twitter, my obsession with Downton Abbey borders on dangerous. Michelle Dockery aka Lady Mary Crawley has done a gorgeous photo for September’s Harper’s Bazaar. Michelle is as gorgeous in modern fashion as she is in Edwardian. Check out the pictures here. (Photo: Pacific Coast News)
Downton Abbey stars Laura Carmichael, Jessica Brown Findlay, and Michelle Dockery – who play Ladies Edith, Sybil, and Mary – ditched the Edwardian drag and transformed into ethereal fashion fairies for a photo shoot for the fashion bible LOVE, styled by the magazine’s editor-in-chief Katie Grand and photographed by the legendary Mert and Marcus.
