In the latest inssue of Elle UK, Miley is photographed by fashion photog Jan Welters wearing a silk Lanvin vest, unbuttoned to the stomach, and a gold vermeil pendant by Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane, a mauve smoky eye, and a provocative, “Come and get me, world” pose.

The second ad for Lanvin’s Fall/Winter 2012-13 campaign, features gorgeous blogger, artist, and milliner Stella Rose St. Clair photographed by Steven Klein amidst a jumble of shoes and handbags strewn about an apartmentlike setting. Rather than use the models of the moment, Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz says he went for real women, ranging in age from 18 to 80. “There was something very demographic about the approach,” he told WWD. “I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes. It felt like a crazy family, and I like that.” She looks fabulous and I gotta say: I’m loving this campaign.
I was just about to post a picture from the new Miss Dior campaign featuring Mila Kunis, which is awesome and she looks beautiful BLAH BLAH BLAH, when I ran across THIS gorgeous bit of marketing genius from Alber Elbaz. It’s the first image from Lanvin’s Fall Winter 2012/2013 ad campaign, and it’s absolutely HYPNOTIC. It’s formal and severe and uncompromisingly chic and it reminds us that MY GOD, aren’t we all tired of celebrities in fashion campaigns anyway? THIS is what fashion is about! It’s about creating a persona, it’s about personal expression, not helping to brand a celebrity. I wish more fashion houses had the cojones to follow Lanvin’s lead here. (via Style Frizz)
