For the 10th anniversary of Time Magazine’s annual 100 Most Influential People, Time is holding a public vote for their Most Influential person of the past 10 years, and the top two contenders are pop icon Lady Gaga, and activist/politician Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma. Gaga of course is not only known for her album sales, massive Twitter following, and outfit choices, but also she took to philanthropy last year by starting the Born This Way Foundation, dedicated to youth empowerment and anti-bullying. Not to underplay Gag’s achievements, but the opposer has a much longer track record. Aung San Suu Kyi has been a political prisoner for 20 years for criticizing her government by helping to initiate the National League for Democracy. She was placed under house arrest, and given the option to leave the country to be free, she refused that option and instead worked from her home to democratize her home country. She was liberated in November 2010 and now holds a seat at Burmese parliament. So, the voting ends tonight, and the winner is announced tomorrow, the results are dead-even as of now. Who will it be? Vote here, and you can vote as many times as you want.

wheelchairs the rich are different Lady Gaga gold excess Bling MTV reports that Mordekai’s Ken Borochov was commissioned to design the chair: ”I certainly wasn’t expecting that phone call and have never done a wheelchair but am always up for a challenge and was thrilled to create what I affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen,” Ken said in an official statement. Logically, Ken looked first to a throne for his inspiration. He then fashioned the Chariot from tufted calf leather, inspired by classic motorcycle jackets, adding a removable leather canopy that we REALLY want to get a look at. The wheels and hardware are 24-Karat gold plated. Maybe the craziest detail of all of this, the whole business had to be completed in a single week!” (via Towleroad, Photo: Terry’s Diary)

wtf Madonna Little Monsters Lady Gaga GLAAD Fans Anderson Cooper

The full letter reads:

Dear GLAAD:

It has come to the attention to Little Monsters everywhere that you are letting Madonna give an award to Anderson Cooper. Not only is this an insult to a true gay rights activist like Lady Gaga, but it insults every gay man and woman on this planet.

Madonna is one of the major reasons for AIDS. Back in the 1980′s, she encouraged gay men to have unprotected sex. While she certainly didn’t start the disease, she and her lack of morals helped it spread.

Please rethink your choice of having Madonna as a presenter. If you don’t, we Little Monsters will strike back in a way you won’t like.

Sincerely,
Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters

Lady Gaga conspiracy theory cancelled tours So Lady Gaga cancelled her tour because she needs hip surgery or she has lupus or she’s dying or something, and and it’s all very sad and the little monsters are wailing and waving their paws in support blah blah blah. And if it’s true we wish her a speedy recovery. BUT. The Examiner claims to have received information from two reputable sources that say Live Nation pulled the plug on Lady Gaga’s tour because it wasn’t making enough money to justify the production. “It wasn’t that ticket sales were disastrous, but they weren’t good enough to justify the huge production cost,” one source says. “I truly believe Lady Gaga is making her ‘injury’ out to be a lot worse than it is. This is definitely a cover-up.” Another source told the paper that “Lady Gaga is devastated about the cancelation of the shows and actually wanted to reschedule them, but Live Nation refused. ‘They lost a lot of money on this tour, especially in South America. North American ticket sales were fine, but not nearly as well as expected. They had to give away a lot of tickets,’ the source said. Furthermore: “You can bet that Lady Gaga and her team will try and drum up as much sympathy for Mother Monster as possible. She is good at playing the victim card, but the public may see through it this time. We do feel sorry for the fans though. Whatever the true reasons for the cancelation, they are missing out on a show they have been looking forward to for months.” Related: Rolling Stone thinks the cost of CANCELING the tour could exceed $30 million. What do YOU think is the real story?

Quote Unquote

Quote Unquote Lady Gaga “She’s a fucking hood rat who is suing me for money she didn’t earn. She’s just — she thinks she’s just like the queen of the universe. And, you know what, she didn’t want to be a slave to one, because in my work and what I do, I’m the queen of the universe every day… Are you going to stare at me like a witch this whole time — honestly? Because this is going to be a long fucking day that you brought me here… No, no, no. Listen, listen, sir, if you’re going to ask me questions for the next five hours, I am going to tell you exactly what fucking happened, so that the judge can read on this transcript exactly what’s going on… She knew exactly what she was getting into, and she knew there was no overtime, and I never paid her overtime the first time I hired her, so why would she be paid overtime the second time? This whole case is bullshit, and you know it. I’m quite wonderful to everybody that works for me, and I am completely aghast to what a disgusting human being that [she has] become to sue me like this. [Why?] Because she slept in Egyptian cotton sheets every night, in five-star hotels, on private planes, eating caviar, partying with Terry Richardson all night, wearing my clothes, asking YSL to send her free shoes without my permission, using my YSL discount without my permission.” – Lady Gaga in court today for a deposition about a former personal assistant who is suing her for overtime pay.
