I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m in a rut. An emotional rut. A lifestyle rut. A LOOK rut. My makeup is boring and my outfits are predictable. I need to kickstart my creativity. I need HELP. To that end, I’ve decided to do a new video series where I bring in people like RuPaul’s stylist Mathu Andersen and Madonna’s makeup artist Sharon Gault to help me get my groove back. The only rule of “Transformations,” is there are no rules. My friends can transform me into anything they like. We can do clown drag, hag drag, monster drag… My face is a blank canvas. The first episode premieres RIGHT NOW on World of Wonder’s YouTube Channel with legendary artist Billy B (Lady Gaga! Mariah! Beyoncé! Dolly Parton! Missy Elliot! AND ON AND ON! AND ON!) transforming me into a sophisticated Park Avenue socialite. Says Billy: “Who better to create a show about the art of transformation than the producers of RuPaul’s Drag Race. And who better to be the host of this cool new show than former Party Monster and wowlebrity… James St. James!” Upcoming transformations include a Chola makeover (with YouTube sensation Gloria Shuri Nava), a zombie makeover, a “Tranimal” makeover, a Juggalo makeover and many, many other surprises. If you don’t already know, Vine is the new “it” app where users post six-second vidbits that play on repeat. It’s a little less refined than Instagram, but the potential is oh so titillating!
