With Black Friday fast approaching, here’s a gift idea that’s sure to please any design-obsessed goth on your list: It’s Harold Sangourard’s super-chic Skull Armchair, a fabulously evil-looking piece of furniture built from a steel frame and finished with black glossy paint so it shines like the Goblin King’s throne. Says WeTheUrban: “The armchair is intended for comfort with padded seats covered in velvet.” It’s available for purchase online from Harold’s website here, with prices available by request.

Pam Griffiths, who worked on The RuPaul Show back in the day, just sent us this posting on Craigs List. In the course of its 99-episode run, it’s pretty amazing to think of the starry asses that parked themselves on its lovely velvety surface. They include – as detailed in the book The World According To Wonder – Cher, Diana Ross, Debbie Harry, Mary J Blige, Chaka Khan, Mary Tyler Moore, Olivia Newton John, Cyndi Lauper, Little Richard, Whoopi Goldberg, Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync, Usher, Belinda Carlisle, Duran Duran, La Toya Jackson, Jerry Springer, Martha Wash, Lynda Carter, Joan Rivers, John Waters, Isaac Mizrahi, Susan Lucci,Maria Shriver, Neil Patrick Harris, Mark Hamill, Ivana Trump, Molly Ringwald, Linda Blair, Dennis Rodman, Robert Palmer, Bea Arthur, Anna Nicole Smith, Rick James, Gary Coleman, Marilyn Chambers, Tammy Faye Messner, Eartha Kitt, and co-host Michelle Visage. Not to mention Ru himself. For $599, that’s a steal. Buy it now!
This storage unit looks like an image that’s been distorted by interference on an old cathode ray TV screen (I believe the technical term is degaussing). It’s wonderfully disorienting. From the brilliant Italian master furniture maker’s website: “The appeal of this extraordinary piece of furniture lies in its ability to overturn and question classical stylistic principles such as purity, cleanness and symmetry, while evoking a comforting feeling of deja-vù and a sort of primitiveness, matched by unquestionable craftsmanship.” And, as we noted, a pleasant sense of giddiness and disorientation. It’s really a couch, from Maarten de Ceulaer’s Mutation Series. (via L.V)
