This brightly colored movie from Finland, Toivelauluja, made in 1961, two years before Bye Bye Birdie, was one of the first movies in that country to be made in color. They sure got it right. Here’s a big swinging production number from it. (via Dangerous Minds)
Last night, Teija Vesterbacka arrived at the Finish Presidential Palace to celebrate the country’s independence in this lovely off-the-shoulder Angry Bird ball gown. According to Kotaku: “We assume she’s wearing the dress not just out of a love for the addictive cell phone game, but because she’s married to one of the executives at Rovio, the people who make Angry Birds.” Personally, I’m waiting for the Fruit Ninja collection.
