Carly Rae Jepsen has never really been on my radar. Yes, her song was an earworm and she looks like Barbie Benton, but other than that? Meh. But my tune has changed toward this woman, as she cancelled a huge show over the summer for the Boy Scouts of America. Why? Because of their controversial ban on openly gay scouts and scout leaders. She said,”I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level and stay informed on the ever changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe.” She was booked to do the show with Train, who also backed out stating that they will gladly perform for them as soon as they reverse their anti-gay policies. Thank you so very much. Stances like these result in change. It takes time, but it will happen. (Photo: Pacific Coast News)
