How cool is this? Albert Crudo writes: “PantonePairings is an InstaGram-based art project that presents popular food combinations in the form of Pantone-style color swatches. Launched by Minneapolis-based illustrator and designer David Schwen, the color swatch project was apparently a happy accident that came out of an attempt to remix common household object pairings.” Prints coming soon!

Japanese bistro Fab Cafe has posted a kind of wonderful service where you can recreate yourself as an edible Gummy Bear. And, seriously, who hasn’t at one time or another dreamed of that? The two-part conversion process involves first making a full 3D body scan, then a mould. Surprisingly, not a lengthy process. The product will set you back 6,000 yen, which sounds like a lot but is only $62.12. But the human Gummy Bears are being offered only in Japan (a major disappointment for the US bear community), to celebrate Japan’s White Day, a kind of Valentine’s Day. (via Fab Cafe)

From Laughing Squid: New York City’s Magnolia Bakery was hired by Showtime to create Dexter cupcakes, mini red velvet cupcakes topped with whipped vanilla icing, shards of sugar glass, and ‘blood splatter’ made of red simple syrup. The cupcakes were served at a special premiere event hosted by Showtime on September 27 at Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall.
Yummy? What we have here is a combine of two glazed donuts enclosing a half-bacon half-beef burger patty, a fried egg, and cheese, plus a tiny tub of strawberry jelly. Sadly, only Southern Californians can feed on this eye-opening breakfast because it’s an exclusive of the west coast Slater’s 50/50 fast food chain. And when we say “sadly,” we mean sad for Southern Californians. Of course, if you must, it’s not that complicated to make at home. (via Laughing Squid)
