Yucky-haired dubstep icon Skrillex’s bid for mainstream(-ish) acceptance is here, in the form of the surprisingly hummable “Bangarang.” The video features young people trying to blow up an old man, which may or may not be a metaphor for the dubstep movement in general. I like it, even if I’m probably closer to being the ice cream man than the kids at this stage in my life.
The folks at Jezebel admit to being confused by the dubstep craze, noting that it “sounds like what happens when you throw a boombox in an above ground pool and then try to run the pool over with a lawn mower.” But fear not! Dubstep Cat will have you grinding to the wobble-bass in no time. He’s probably the greatest thing the internet ever invented. No, really. That’s not hyperbole. At any rate, he’s better than Skrillex, and he makes Keyboard Cat look positively antediluvian. Watch, please.
