Many wowlebrites and friends of WOW have been covergirls for the Halloween issue of Frontiers. In fact, here is Detox in the Bride of Frankenstein look that she transformed James into for Transformations. Check out the past five years of Halloween covers with behind-the-scenes stories from the editor/my bff, Stephan Horbelt. Head over to Frontiers to check them all out!
It’s an all-new episode of Transformations with RDR legend and DWV songbird Detox who gives me a chilling Bride of Frankenstein makeover, while chatting with me about her recent trip to Dubai and DWV’s upcoming Christmas single. She’s a nut, isn’t she? And the final look is TERRIFYING! Catch new episodes every Thursday and be sure to subscribe to WOWpresents!
As you can see from Michelle Visage’s earlier post of her pic with Detox and Ana Matronic, the ladies of RuPaul’s Drag Race hit New York in the face with their Battle of the Seasons show last night. What can I tell you? It was really fun. The before-show meet-and-greet is worth the extra bucks and fans were getting their money’s worth taking pics with their faves. My pals Bradford Shellhammer (of Fab.com) and his husband Georgi Balinov, along with Slick It Up‘s David Mason Chlopecki and Juan Carlos Molina and I hung out and chatted up the always fun and funny Ms Visage. Most all of the Drag Race stars were out and mingling – Alaska, the aforementioned Detox, Jinkx Monsoon (who told me twice that her beautiful dress was an Ivy Winters original), Mimi Imfurst, and Sharon Needles. When they, along with super-sexpot Carmen Carrera and the hilarious Phi Phi O’Hara, finally hit the stage around 10 it was ON, kids! I’m not going to spoil any of the surprises by telling you who did what, but I’ve seen a LOT of drag in my day, and all together in one night, on one stage, THE best live drag show, easily. If I were you, I’d get my tickets now. They’re coming to Chicago on September 11, Indianapolis on the 13th, Cleveland on the 14th, and Minneapolis on the 16th. You can get tickets here.
