Yesterday, I posted an item about the RDR favorite appearing on tomorrow night’s What Would You Do as a transgendered waitress who is harassed by a customer, noting that it was the first time Carmen had publicly revealed her transgender status. In a press release today, she opens up about the changes in her life: “I am now in the long process of transitioning from male to female. Transitioning is a life-changing decision. It’s empowering. I plan on finishing the long and risky Hormone Replacement Therapy process, while continuing my work in television and movies. I look forward to being a positive role model for the transgender community.”

RDR Season 3 LEGEND, Carmen Carrera, plays the part of a transgender waitress working in a New Jersey diner. An actor playing a customer flips out on Carrera due to his past experience of being served by him when he was a male, prompting other customers to come to Carrera’s defense. “What the hell is the matter with you now?” he says. “Look at yourself! You’re a freak!” “I’m not a freak,” Carmen replies. “I’m transgender.” Notably, this is the first time Carrera has publicly revealed that she is transgender.
