Imagine that. One of the world’s best actors tells you that the job you’ve just completed was the best work he’s ever seen? Well that’s what happened to Bryan Cranston with his portrayal of Walter White in Breaking Bad. Sir Anthony Hopkins said, “Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen – ever.” Read more here. (Photo: Pacific Coast News)

If you thought the Breaking Bad finale was slightly underwhelming (and much too restrained), you aren’t alone. Too much time spent on people we didn’t really care about (Gretchen and Elliot, Lydia, the Nazis) and not enough time spent on people we DO care about (Jesse, Walt Jr), if you ask me. And the fact that Walt basically got to control his own narrative right until the very end was slightly maddening. There’s a fabulous piece about it on HuffPo today that sums up a lot of what I feel that I’m encouraging you to read. What did you think? What were your favorite moments? What would you have changed? Was it the best finale ever?
Just four episodes left! Read four theories as to how it’s going to end here.
I just died. LITerally died. In a CosmicBookNews article detailing Ben Affleck’s unprecedented 13-”appearance” deal as Batman (think Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury popping up in every Marvel movie in the run-up to Avengers) and Bryan Cranston’s six-appearance deal as Lex Luthor (I’m not on board with ANY OF THIS, mind you), there was THIS throwaway little nugget: “DC also does have major interest in bringing Matt Damon into the Justice League now that Affleck is on board, and it is rumored that he is being considered for Aquaman or Martian Manhunter.” SQUEEEEEEEEEEE. My two greatest loves! Together at last! Matt Damon as Aquaman! Can you IMAGINE?! The glory! The magnificence! The MAJESTY that IS Arthur Curry, King of Atlantis! It’s too much to even dream of! And even if he’s only cast as the Martian Manhunter – not one of my favorite characters mind you – I wouldn’t be TOO upset because after all, the Manhunter IS shirtless and ripped and clad only in a pair of Speedos and a cape. And a green Matt Damon might be sort of nice. So let’s MAKE THIS HAPPEN, PEOPLE. As I see it, it’s the ONLY upshot of the otherwise dodgy casting of Affleck. (Photo: Pacific Coast News)
Bryan Cranston wore a startlingly realistic Walter White mask to the Breaking Bad panel during Comic-Con International over the weekend. He’s “the one who rocks.” (via maeveytresh)
