On August 25, MTV’s VMAs will take place in Brooklyn at Barclays Center, so it makes sense that the network asked Brooklyn-based artist, KAWS to re-think their iconic moonman statuette. MTV has a history of working with visual artists like Damien Hirst, who put his dots on the Brit Awards trophy, and glass artist Dale Chihuly, who created a set piece for the 2004 awards ceremony.
