According to People magazine, the next order up for Angelina Jolie is to have her ovaries removed since she’s got a 50% chance of developing ovarian cancer, the same cancer that took her mother’s life at 56. Jolie is 37 right now and the doctors say she will most likely have it done before she turns 40 because you should have the surgery during your childbearing years. She’s quite the warrior on so many levels, but most of all her need to do this for her kids is just beautiful. I totally get that she is doing what she needs to do to be here on Earth for a long time to see those kids grow up and become parents themselves. A parent’s love is endless.

Angelina Jolie has had a preventive double mastectomy after learning she carried a gene that made it extremely likely she would get breast cancer. In a moving article in today’s New York Times titled “My Medical Choice,” she wrote that between early February and late April she completed three months of surgical procedures at the Pink Lotus Breast Center in Southern California to have both of her breasts removed and that Brad Pitt was present for “every minute of the surgeries.” She said her mother fought cancer for almost a decade and died at 56. “She held out long enough to meet the first of her grandchildren and to hold them in her arms. But my other children will never have the chance to know her and experience how loving and gracious she was.” She said, “I do not feel any less of a woman. I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.” (Full story)
Brad Pitt told London’s Evening Standard, “Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic. I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want for her is to have a long and healthy life, with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family.”

This photo of Angelina Jolie posing with a horse will lead off a sale of photographs next month at Christie’s auction house in London. The never-before-seen photograph, shot in 2001 by David LaChapelle when the actress was 25, is expected to bring between £25,000 and £35,000 when it goes on the block as part of “The Wild Side of Photography” sale. An interesting note about the photo is that it shows the Billy Bob tattoo that the actress sported on her arm at the time and which has since been lasered away. (via dailymail)

Karl Lagerfeld rermoved his glasses – REMOVED HIS GLASSES! – while lunching at Dal Bolognese restaurant in Rome yesterday. “And what was the reason for taking the glasses off?” nobody asks. Well. Seems he was showing pictures of his beloved kitty-cat, Choupette, to friends. The things we know at the WOW Report. Angelina Jolie joined British Foreign Secretary William Hague at the G8 delegates meeting in London. The meeting was for the act to stop rape in conflict zones, which she says is a global issue but which can be prevented. Blah Blah blah, BUT WHAT WAS SHE WEARING? Just kidding. Shine on, Angie. You are amazing. Wowlebrity Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York (I do love typing that) attended the Ronnie Wood private view at Castle Gallery in London. And Lindsay Lohan arrived at the Scary Movie 5 premiere in Hollywood, and normally I don’t do Lindsay postings because I prefer not to enable her, but I just happened to be driving past the Cinerama Dome last night at EXACTLY THIS MOMENT, and when I stopped at the light, I was literally RIGHT WHERE THIS CAMERA IS. And I saw Lindsay standing next to Andy Dick, which is just so totally Hollywood, so I’m including this picture for sentimental reasons. (Photos: Pacific Coast News)

The couple’s Miraval Rose 2012 was produced at their southern French estate, Chateau Miraval. It’s the first Miraval vintage stamped by Brad and Angie, in a joint venture with established vintner Marc Perrin. The back label reads “Bottled by Jolie-Pitt and Perrin.” The Perrin family spokesman says the first 6,000 bottles put up for sale online today were bought within five hours. The wine sold for $139 for a six-bottle case. We don’t drink wine, but that sounds cheap. (via people)

Beginning next month we, the lucky public, will be able to anoint our bodies with the heavenly wine blessed and sanctified by St. Angelina and Brad. They have a french estate called Chateau Miraval (don’t we all?) and on the grounds is a winery (you see where I’m going with this). They will be producing their own wines, the first offering being a rose. It’ll be released next month under the name Miraval followed by a white this summer and reds next year. I personally cannot wait for the Shiloh Syrah, Pax Pinot Noir, Maddox Merlot, Vivienne Ventana, Knox Korbel, and my personal fave Zahara Zinfandel. (Photo: Pacific Coast News)
