According to KTNV News, the always zadorable Pia Zadora was arrested at her home in Summerlin, Nevada, Saturday evening on charges of domestic battery and coercion. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, and later released after posting $4,000 bail. According to the AP, Zadora has been married to her third husband, police detective Michael Jeffries, since 2005. The couple met after Zadora contacted police to report a stalking incident. The 59-year-old cult superstar made her film debut in the 1964 masterpiece Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, then later won a Golden Globe in 1981 as New Star of the Year for her starring role in the Cannes favorite Butterfly. She went on to have a vaguely lucrative career singing show tunes on Regis and Kathie Lee. Let’s all pray for Pia today, and watch her two GREATEST hits, the post-apocalyptic “When the Rain Begins to Fall” with Jermaine Jackson and my personal favorite, “Little Bit of Heaven.” FREE PIA!
UPDATE: According to TMZ, It was her 16-year-old son Jordan NOT her husband who called 911, after she allegedly choked him for refusing to go to bed at a timely hour. A SWAT team swarmed the house when Pia and her family refused to come outside and answer the police’s questions.
