Love Story

Love means never having to say you're horny. Vivid Video's Savanna Samson and "The Reverend" Bob Levy from Howard Stern's radio show met while they were starring in the Vivid comedy Stood Up and have since become "pretty cozy off screen," says a pal of the delicious porn star (Samson, not Levy). A Program Note

Vivid Valley producer Thairin Smothers, who conducted that podcast phone interview with Vivid girl Stefani Morgan in October, has brought to our attention that, regarding the item yesterday in "Page Six" allowing that Stefani met Tommy Lee at a party after the recent AVN awards in Vegas and is now dating him, all is not entirely true. He reminds us that Stefani said this last year: "I met [Tommy Lee] and I totally like walked away. I wasn't impressed with him at all."

"Page Six" reveals today that Motley Crue drumstick Tommy Lee has started seeing Vivid Video vixen Stefani Morgan after meeting her at a party following the recent AVN awards in Las Vegas. Fever Las Vegas! The Int'l Consumer Electronics Show

Vivid Video, the subject of World of Wonder’s peep into the porn world, Vivid Valley, airing every Thursday on Playboy TV, headlined the Adult Video section at the annual International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas for four days last week, ending Sunday night. Over 200,000 conventioneers vied for Vegas hotel rooms, where price gouging set new records: A room at Motel 6 booked at the last minute went for an astronomical $176 a night. According to a recent New York Times survey, $12.6 billion was generated by the adult video industry in 2005. And money-making and money-chasing was the hot pursuit at this world’s largest adult-product convention. Marci Hirsch, Vivid's vice president in charge of production, described the event as “really hectic but great." Vivid has had a booth every year since the company started 21 years ago.

Out on the floor, it was a major show-and-tell-pornstar-uber-sexualized-louche- extravaganza, with sexed-up nearly naked girls and boys posing lewdly for scores of TV and digi cameras. Skin was in and flash was everywhere. The show was all about hooking up: distributors looking for retailers, porn stars hot to meet directors and agents, and producers pitching for production deals – it was all happening simultaneously amid a crowd of fawning fans. Club Jenna, Jenna Jameson’s booth, had a couple of hundred horny guys waiting for an autograph – the longest line at the show. Girls in bubble baths, girls having simulated sex, girls in pasties drooping from over-siliconed breasts and drooling pornophiles, helped fuel a frenzy of sales as order takers wrote big business from starstruck retailers.

Over at the gay part of the show, the mega studio, Titan Men, corralled a bevy of their star beefcake to pose and sign autographs for the fans. Buck Angel, the one-and-only female-to-male transgender to cross over into mainstream gay porn, waxed ecstatic about Titan and his starring role in their latest blockbuster, Cirque Noir. “Titan is an awesome company to work for. They treated me with a lot of respect and didn't try to make me into some kind of freak,” he said. Buck, who's married to a woman, is proud of his three orifices and his giant clitoris that's now a penis. “So many gay guys hit on me," he told me. "I have to swat them off like flies.”

The Devil You Say

The winners at the 23rd annual AVN Awards Show, which occurred Saturday at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, have been announced and we have the complete list here, thanks to AVN's website. The New Devil in Miss Jones won big with Best awards for art direction, editing, and cinematography. We have a clip right here of the making of that winning film, with Jenna Jameson (above) from WOW's Vivid Valley series.

We're happy and want to thank the Supreme Being and the spirit of Linda Lovelace for our winning the Best Mainstream Adult Release award for Inside Deep Throat. But the specialty awards are what really excite us, wondering what the acceptance speeches must have been like.

Miss Jones Gets a Makeover

Vivid Entertainment's hot remake of the classic The Devil in Miss Jones is new on DVD and in stores now, and makes a delightful double-feature with Inside Deep Throat (also out on DVD), if you ask us. Devil stars Vivid girls Jenna Jameson and Savanna Samson (how freakin' uncanny is it that the parents of future porn stars gave their babies alliterative names!). Georgina Spelvin (an exception), who starred in Deep Throat director Gerard Damiano's 1973 original Devil, makes a guest appearance.

With a budget far higher than other adult movies and dazzling sex scenes woven together with a thought-provoking story line, "The New Devil in Miss Jones" blurs the viewer's perception of what appears to be hyper-realism with evocative fantasy sequences. As Ms. Devlin, the Devil, Jameson captures the mood when she tells a horror-struck Justine Jones, "things seem a little bit mixed up, don't they?" (AINews)
