The RuPaul Show

“RuPaul has mastered one of Carson’s elusive tricks – he treats all his guests as equals… If it’s fun and unpredictability you want in late night TV, RuPaul is your man.” San Diego Tribune

America’s Drag Queen Sweetheart, aka RuPaul, hosts his own campy celebrity gabfest & variety show featuring his favorite pop icons. RuPaul says, “I was born to be on television. I’m a pop-culture addict. ”

At the top of each show, RuPaul sings one of his favorite songs wearing fabulous fashions by David Dalrymple or Mathu & Zaldy and backed by two hot male dancers. Sassy sidekick, Michelle Visage, chats with Ru and plays along in comedy sketches and hilarious field reports.

THE RUPAUL SHOW premiered on VH1 in October of 1996 and has run for 100 episodes including RuPaul’s stint as Scrooge Diva in “Ho Ho Ho…A RuPaul Christmas Special”.

Guests on the hot seat have included Mary Tyler Moore, Diana Ross, Cher, Whoopi Goldberg, Little Richard, Rick James, Pam Grier, Olivia Newton John and Anna Nicole Smith. Musical guests who’ve graced the stage have included Backstreet Boys, *NSync, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, L’il Kim, Crystal Gayle and Sister Sledge.
